The OP said her ticket was for 84 in a 70 zone and considered reckless driving in VA. Does anyone know if a ticket like this can/will effect insurance premiums in VA?

Oh, huge. That's a really bad ticket in VA, 4 figure fine. They can arrest you and impound the vehicle.

OMG are you serious??? I didn't think it would be that much! Geez!! Ima go to driving school before court. I thought wreckless was 15 over. But apparently it had something to do with being in the right lane or some crap! And I just called my insurance company the day before to tell them to shop for a better rate cuz $127 is too much for my perfect driving record!

Reckless in VA is 20 over, or any speed over 80 regardless of the speed limit.

I see. Dang sucks for me. Hopefully he will dismiss it or at least reduce it if I go to driving school. State trooper said the judge in the county (Hanover) is good about it.

Honestly, you should hire an attorney. They'll nail you to the wall, you need an attorney.

I looked up the possible penalties for a conviction, 12 months in jail, $2,500 fine, 6 months suspension of license. Reckless driving in VA is nothing to screw around with. That's why most troopers knock it down, because it has such serious consequences. Insurance is the least of your problems.

I am! I have multi car discount, homeowner,
education, no tickets, and no accidents listed on my policy and paying $127. Rip off.

seriosuly, if you have a current reckless driving ticket in VA and you're worried about insurance you're worried about the wrong thing lol.

From the way you described a reckless driving ticket in VA, $127/mo. might be a bargain.

That's her rate before being convicted of reckless driving even. And it's all relative, you can't compare insurance rates from person to person, area to area really.
