Cool iss2017 ES350 audio channel selectionue question

A question to owners of 2014, 2015 and 2016 ES350 with navigation systems.
I just bought a 2017 ES350 with navigation and already have a 2013 ES350 with the same features. On the 2013 when I push the up arrow on the radio station selector on the console or the up arrow on the steering wheel the channel moves up. However on the 2017 the up arrow on the console selector makes the station go down, while on the steering wheel it goes up. Same thing on another 2017 ES350 on the dealer's lot. I think this is a manufacturing error. I would like owners of 2014, 2015 and 2016 ES350-s with navigation systems to check whether this inconsistency problem is new on the 2017 or did it get introduces on prior years. Thank you on advance.

I think that whether pressing the up and down arrows changes the radio to a higher or lower channel has to do with the order in which you saved the channels into the pre-sets, and I suspect that, if they had been saved in reverse order, the arrows would also be changing the channels in reverse order.

For what it is worth, the arrows on both the steering wheel and on the dash operate in the same fashion on both my 2017 ES and on the 2013 ES that I previously had.

I checked my 2013 ES300h with Nav and ML. Up goes up the channel list on the screen and down goes down the list using both the steering wheel control and the control on the radio.

My car does the same (2016). Press the up arrow on the steering wheel and the station goes from preset 3 to preset 2. Press the up arrow on the console and the station goes from preset 3 to preset 4.

Lesz and others who are interested. On my 2017ES350 as well as on another ES350 on the dealer's lot the dashboard up/down arrows definitely work oppoassite from the ones on the seeering wheel, regardless of which channels are assigned to the numbers one to six. i took pictures but have trouble uploading them. But I recorded the assignments. position 1, ch76, 2, ch116, 3, ch76, 4, ch61, 5, ch16, 6, ch32. If the selection is on any of these positions moving the up arrow on the console will move it down. So if I am on position 3, moving the up arrow will select position 4. Position 4 to position 5, and so on. You may want to double check it. I doubt that Lexus would miswire some cars and not others

Hello Lesz. Did you have a chance to recheck the way the steering wheel and panel up/down arrows work? If you look at the 1 to 6 numbers on the left side of the channel numbers do they go in the same direction, 3 to 2 for example, when you push the up arrow on either the steering wheel or console? If they do then it must be a production problem since the car on the dealer's lot did the same thing as mine. I would really like to know so I appreciate if you recheck it.

Thanks,

robagt

I checked again. When I press the down arrow on the wheel, it changes the channel to the next channel down the list of pre-sets. For example, it would change from channel 2 to channel 3 of my pre-sets. If I press the up arrow on the wheel, it changes the channel to the next one above on the pre-set list (for example, from 3 to 2). If I use the arrows on the console, the up arrow will cause it to scroll up the list, and the down arrow will cause it to scroll down the list.

For the operation of both the steering wheel controls and the ones on the console, the way that it works seems to make logical sense to me, but I could be missing something.
