Mine works fine, too.

For you guys that work fine, is the weather service a pay to use/subscription service, or maybe free for first 6 months of ownership, etc or is it 100% free?

I might be slightly off on the years, but, for the 2013 and 2014 model year ES, the weather service (and traffic information) was a part of the Sirius XM subscription, and, after the 90 day free trial, a paid subscription was needed to use the service. Starting with the 2015 ES, it became a free service separate from Sirius XM. Again, I could be off by a year with regard to when the change took place.

The weather app gets its info. from a local HD radio signal. If you do not have a local HD radio station within range, then you will not have the weather info. displayed. And, I do not know if all HD radio stations carry the weather as standard in their signal.

You are correct that traffic and weather are provided free now, carried from an HD radio signal (starting in 2014 or 2015, the Gen 8 system). If you don't live near an area with an HD signal, you can use the free Lexus Enform App Suite app to work as a backup data source for traffic and weather.

Boy it really grinds my gears that Lexus changed the nav in the middle of the body styles 2013 to 2015! Why not wait until 2016 when they 'refreshed' the front and rear of the car!?
The versions can be verified here.... http://www.lexusnavigation.com/what-to-order/
Not meaning to hijack the thread, but can anyone tell me if the GEN7 nav destination/address/data on the nav can be manipulated/input while the car is in motion?

Certainly, I have not been told specifically that it is a paid service or have paid for it. I do receive HD radio stations, so maybe the weather comes automatically due to that.
I do also have sirius XM and signed up for it beyond the 3 month free trial.

The is correct. The things for which you need a paid subscription are the safety connect, service connect, Enform remote (for 2015-2017 cars with Enform remote), and Enform Destinations. Lexus made the basic Enform app suite free a couple of years ago, and, for the 2015-2017 ES, traffic and weather information are available free, too. For the 2013 and 2014 ES, an active paid Sirius XM subscription is needed to get traffic and weather information.

I'll never master what things are free, and what items are paid, until they expire and I no longer have them.
I use Destination Assist, but doubt I'll pay extra for it once it expires.
I think that's free for one year ?
