I have noticed that there are some ES models (I have a 2013 Hybrid) that have the shark fin antenna on the roof and some don't, mine doesn't. Does anyone know why?

the shark fin antenna is for satellite radio right? maybe has to do with whether vehicle is sat ready or not?

You're in Hawaii, so you may get a mix of vehicles from different areas, like Guam. I don't believe they have XM availability.

These antennas have to be mounted on a metal surface so if you have the panoramic sunroof, the flat satellite antenna goes on the trunk lid. I have never seen a sharkfin-style antenna on the trunk lid, only the flat antenna.

I have the pano roof with both the shark-fin, plus a trunk mounted antenna.

I've never understood why, with an ES with the Premium or Luxury package, one antenna is sufficient, but, with the Ultra Luxury package and pano roof, two antennas seem to be necessary.
