Loving the larger selection of interior colors and contrasts. We're getting closer to L-Select

I wonder when we'll see these in the showrooms.

I've owned two ES 350s and just can't get by that front design with that huge grill.

That's one of the main reasons we just picked up a '15.

The ES, to me, has never been about flashy and sporty. The '16 makes it look flashier than I would like....Id just as soon buy an IS at that point

To each his own, though! Im sure plenty of people will buy it/

and that's also the reason why I picked up a '15 RX.
I don't like the exterior of the '16 RX.

still looks like the 2011 ES i used to own... but with a different face... BTW, every time i look at the 2016 it looks more and more like the Avalon. not bashing the car by no means, just pointing out the similarities.

I wonder if the 2016 shifter is interchangeable with 2013 model.
I hope it's still similar gated but just covered with a shifter boot.
I would gladly replace mine with this new one.
Any ideas?

Every car I've had with a leather shift boot, all it ends up doing is collecting dust and dirt. Its like black paint...looks great, when its clean!

Our 2003 TL (the car replaced by our '15 ES) had just a chrome stalk and shift ****, I actually prefer it to my G37 that has a shifter boot.

When I was young and dumb, for a while there I associated shifter boot with manual transmissions only. I blame the auto makers for making me wrong!

While it's more work to maintain, it does clean up the look. If the **** just screws on in the place of the the stock one and the metal trim on the shifter gate comes out, you could screw the **** on and secure the leather boot where the metal was attached using an adhesive.
That or see if you can just purchase the shifter assembly and trim, then install it.

While I agree that the leather boots do collect dust and debris, my experience has been that both designs are collection spots for such dust and debris, and both are an equal pain to clean.

I have a 2013 ES (without the leather boot) and GX with leather boots on both the transmission shifter and the 4x4 transfer case shifter. I find that, with both vehicles, the area around the shifters is a magnet for debris and a pain to clean.
