Default 300h rotary ****, no mouse.

I own a 2013 es350 and of course have a mouse to control nav and such. I looked in a 2013 es300 today and saw that it had a rotary **** where my mouse is located. Do some es 300 not have a mouse, and why?

Correct, rotates to move around the display, left, right, up, down to move between display lines, depress to select. Climate, phone, displays, etc. Look at the manual for Display Audio screens.

The mouse only comes with the factory Nav on both the ES 300h and ES 350.

I have personally found the rotary **** is more convinient / simple way to control the system compare to the mouse.

What car did you have a mouse on?

I was given 2013 ES350 with navigation as a loaner at 10,000 mile service.
My car has a rotary ****.

It's takes a little time to get use to the mouse. I thought I wouldn't like it either, but use it now without issue.

Non-Nav ES's and RX's with Display Audio have the rotary ****. The $740 ES option (now standard on '15 RX's) has the Digital HD AM and also FM, Bluetooth for both phone and Audio plus Hybrid style Trip and History Fuel Graphs. The **** can be turned, pressed or tilted.

Rotary **** is better in my opinion, you can memorize/get familiar with how many clicks/turns to dig through menus, etc. VS. with the mouse, you may have a general idea where on the screen something is, but you still need to look, and then click, and when driving, can be hard to click down exactly where the cursor is if bumpy.

Lexus claims remote touch is easier to learn because it's like a computer mouse functionality. but i don't operate a computer mouse while driving at the same time.

The new "track pad" doesn't improve it all that much, still suffers the same short coming of having to look and then press down.

So the new rotary **** is a modified and simplified mouse, no?

The **** isn't new, it's been in the non-navigation es350 and es300h's since the the 2013 model year. It's works just like every **** you see in every German luxury car.

Driven a loaner with the rotary ****. I like my mouse much better, very intuitive and easy to use.
