Bike in Backseat??
Does anyone know if a ladies 26" bicycle will fit in the backseat of a 2013ES350? I want to buy a cruiser but do not want to put a rack on the trunk. I did that with another car and scratched the paint. Nor do I want to fool around with taking off the front tire of the bike. I just want to be able to pick it up from the store and load it in the back seat and then take it to the beach from time to time. But if it won't fit, I am not buying the bike. Thanks.

I'd pass on the bicycle. Rent one at the beach or forget it...

I seriously doubt it will fit. I wouldn't put it in there anyway. A Bones rack would fit well on the trunk and won't hurt it. Put an electric polisher cloth on the top leg.

talk about scratching your leather...
have you looked into hitch setups for the ES? You could get one of those hitch- mounted bike racks. They won't damage the paint.

I may have nightmares tonight just thinking about you putting a bike of any size in the backseat of your Lexus. You may be like my wife - for years when our kids were younger we really needed a mini van of some type but she wouldn't even consider it. But all we put in the back seat was boys not bikes.
Good luck though.

Years ago, I spent about 20 minutes fitting two bikes in the bacl of my Nissan Murano, then unloading for the ride, reloading for the trip home, and you guessed it one more unload. I had a hitch installed the next weekend and purchased a hitch mounted rack that holds two bikes. Never wanted to go down that road again let alone worry about damage to leather seats. Please don't!

1+ on the trailer hitch.
prohibited on the hybrid, but shouldn't be an issue on the es350
OTOH, they are heavy and need to be stored when not used.
one more idea

I love my beach cruiser. I love my ES300h. I tried to figure out a way to make it work but it wasn't meant to be. So I am keeping my old Minivan JUST to take the bikes to the beach.

Ok, looks like I won't be buying that bike yet. Will save up for a beater car and put a rack on it. Don't want to spoil the looks of my pretty white car with a rack on it.

I just do not understand not buying a bike you want to have and ride at the beach because it won't fit in the backseat, and buying a beater car JUST to take a bike to the beach...
Its a nice car...but its a car. If you can't use it to transport you and what you want to transport to where you want to go...its of no value to you.
I'm as crazy as they come when it comes to cars...but this is nuts IMHO. It will destroy the interior of the car, BUT a good bike rack won't hurt the exterior...and it will be much cheaper than a beater car...
