Iphone 5S with 7.1.1 (latest version) is suddenly starting to read some of my emails the way that it normally reads text messages. Anybody else seen this happening? I've heard that this is normal on android, but had been told ios restricts this from happening. I'd actually prefer it to not pop up and alert me about emails the way it does for texts.

I never knew the system could read emails. I have a Samsung S4 and never had the system read text messages back to me automatically. And sometimes the messages button is not available.

I spoke with a Lexus Tech expert and he said that the phone industry has not caught up with the Lexus folks. So I've stuck with an Android app called AVX to read texts and emails back to me. I have that app set to read everything through the audio system.

My 2014 ES 300h reads both text and email from the Blackberry Z10 via bluetooth. You are presented with a choice on the nav screen to either have the text read or to ignore. You can also choose a reply from a list of canned responses.

Yeah, I think the Lexus Tech rep had it backwards in this case.
