I'm pretty sure the average age of a Ferrari owner is 55+ also....I don't think that would really detract me from driving/owning one!

I bought my es300h last year at age 43. I'm sure the avg age is dropping due to their new styling. I would have never bought the older styles (2012 and earlier) but the new 2014/2013 styles is very nice and agreesive, a chip off their more sportier lines and I like it!

Bang for the buck is almost unbeatable for the ES series! IMHO

On a side note, I put winter tires on the Lexus Rims and bought hyper silver Enkie rims for the summer/all season tires......it doen't look like my father car at all!

I bought my ES300h right after I turned 40. Face it - there just aren't that many sexy hybrids out there. If I see another 300h I do try to see who's driving and yes - the driver is always older than me - but I really don't care.

I never knew about the age factor that's associated with the ES until I was lurking on this forum. I'm turning 29 this year and just recently purchased the 2014 ES350. Base on the aggressive redesigned and Lexus' reliability, I knew the ES350 would be perfect for me. I'm very happy with the car and the minimal damage that it has done to my purse!

So regardless of the targeted demographic, if you like it, get it! Who cares what other people think?

I say, get the car if you like it. It wouldn't really serve to negate or diminish your (younger) age. Most of your critics would probably be jealous anyway.

I have an ES 350 and I'm 37. Its gorgeous, sexy, and seriously fun to drive. At the same time, its luxe enough to take to a fancy restaurant and not feel like you're slumming it. I cannot recommend the ES350/300h highly enough.

Buy the car! Lot's of us are in our 30's. Where I live all of my neighbors as all own ES 350's or RX 350's and we are all in our 30's but whereI live where the avg income is much higher then most places so we can afford to buy a Lexus. Older people like Value and comfort. The ES is both of those. You get wiser with age so I view older people buying the cars a plus.

Try putting a car seat in a BMW 3 series or a Q50. That for me sold me on the ES. I will be the first to admit there are more fun cars out there but I am not sure there really better for everyday use. I have learned to not care what people think. I am on my second ES and the longer I own one the more I like it.

My wife always drove the ES I drove fun cars. The new ES is really a great design and a bigger vehicle, only a few inches different then the LS and bigger then a GS. I no longer think of a ES as a chick car and never thought of it as a old persons car, that's a Buick

The ES is an entry luxury vehicle. If you are into luxury, it doesn't matter how old you are.

I agree with the general sentiment in this thread. I'm 36 and I love my ES300h. No other car comes close to the combination of luxury, fuel economy, technology, and great looks.

Perhaps that is correct. Personally I think that it's good etiquette on these forums for the OP to at least hang around long enough to read the responses and thank everyone for their input. Hopefully he will do that, regardless of what he decides to buy. But even if he doesn't, we still had a good discussion that others may benefit from...

I've been lurking and absorbing all the great feedback. It helped me realize that I am buying a car for myself, not others. In fact I think I went a step farther. Initially, I was attracted to the prestige of a brand luxury car. As I explored the market in the price range of an ES, I discovered the Hyundai Genesis 2015. Every review is positive about the car. The only negative point written is about the Hyundai name and not the car itself. That brings me back to who I am buying the car for. Thanks to everyone for all your helpful opinions.
