6 1/2 mos. of ownership, and with 7000 mi. on the car, with the last tankful I got 42.25 actual mpg.
This is with utilizing 100% sport mode, 50:50 city/highway and a/c going 50% of the time.
Compared to 48-53 mpg with my CT, not too shabby....

Sharper throttle response and Sharper ESP make the car safer to merge. better control and steering feel for manuevering.
No one said you have to leave the car in Sport all the time, but Driver Mode Select gives you more control and more facets, moreso than you've ever had to date.

You've had hybrids for 8 years so you're accustomed to them yes but the lack of having a dedicated Sport mode is the reason you have no practical use until now.

Oh, you can still get the Tach dial with Eco or Normal mode with your customized dash setting. You don't need to have it in Sport, but it's much easier to change the display with the mode dial.

[QUOTE=CodemanGS;8493791]98% of the time, I am in 'Normal'. The computer does just fine, here in the 'A-Z'. With such flat terrain, this works well. learned this from driving a Prius, for four years. I average 45 - 47 MPG 95% of the time. REALLY love the ES300h.[/
Really 45-47mpg??? Are you going down hill all times?or actually pushing the car yourself or just driving like old lady from full stop to 40mph takes you 2minutes cause myes300h in nyc traffic average 27mpg and when i drive like old lady hardly gets to34mpg but then im slowing whole traffic behind me and everyone is honking on me

I'm not a guy am I allowed to post?
I drive in ECO all the time. I'm averaging about 35 mpg. When I drove in Normal I was averaging about 30 mpg. I can't figure out how to get this any higher - but my drive is all stop and go on hills and I think that's what's killing me.

Stop and go traffic is the worse.
But long distances (1 mile)at 40-70 mph and you be able to get in the high 30's. the key is feathering the peddle at cruising altitude!

My first tank of gas, I mostly drove Eco while experimenting with normal and sport modes rarely. I just refilled when the fuel indicator lit up, and I had driven 564 miles and filled it up to full with 13.98Gallons of premium fuel. I suppose that averages out to just over 40 MPG. I hope to do better as I get used to driving a hybrid...any tips to improve mileage are welcome.
