Rear suspension absorbs bumps poorly ?
My 300H seems to have a much harder ride in the rear axle than the front. On a less than smooth pavement the rear end seems to hop when it hits a series of small bumps. The front end seems much more stable and reacts more smoothly to bumps. Feels like an issue with shock absorbers not absorbing well. This may be a factor in the design that tried to lighten the car. Not sure. Maybe aftermarket shocks would help? Anyone else notice this problem?

Yeah what are the pressures? Tire pressure makes a big difference.

I haven't noticed this either, and 90% of my drives are with the rear seats/trunk empty. Wonder if a heavy aft section with people and cargo significantly alters the ride?
Are your tires old enough to notice an irregular wear pattern, possibly indicating a suspension issue?

I appreciate your feedback. I'm running 33lbs in the tires, and will have dealer check it out. Maybe just my overly sensitive tail bone from my previous 430.

Yes it was an LS430 so my tail is sensitive.. Had my dealer check it today and they say the suspension is fine. They say Eco mode is unrelated to suspension but I do seem to recall reading that Sport mode tightened the steering and suspension. I did note that Kelly Blue Book said the powertrain feels “nervous” in Eco mode – whatever that means. I'll continue to monitor. Thanks for your response.

I believe that, in the Sport mode, the steering is tightened, but the suspension remains unchanged regardless of mode.

Yeah its just a different car. The LS feels a lot heavier and more solid than the ES, as you get more used to the ES and compare it less to the LS in your head it won't bother you.
The ES is a great riding car its just different, lighter, less damped and less sophisticated suspension.

I've read that said a few times, but I've also wondered whether people who came to that conclusion might have been comparing a 2013 ES UL with 18 inch wheels to a previous generation ES with smaller wheels and higher profile tires. If I were to compare the ride of my 2013 ES to that of my previously owned 2006 ES, I'd say that they are very similar. The 2013 might be just a touch firmer, but they are so close that, unless I was comparing them side-by-side, I wouldn't be able to tell for sure which had a firmer ride quality. What I do notice is that the 2013 steering and handling is somewhat more precise than that of the 2006.
