I special ordered a 2016 ES350 just to avoid a few unwanted options and the car was built last week and is on the way but I was informed today that it shows the unwanted Rear Lip Spoiler, Illuminated Door Sills and the Preferred Accessory Package with Lexus bumper applique. Aren't all three of these options port installed which might still provide the opportunity to get the car the way I want it.

Alternately, is the rear lip spoiler just tape mounted and therefore removable?

If you special ordered, how are there extra options installed? Was your's just "close enough" to one already in the pipeline?

No, special ordered from the start and that is the problem - none of this was included in my order. I have confirmed though that all three options are to be port installed so the car as built is exactly as specified. So I am waiting to hear that the additional options will not be installed when the car arrives and we will be back on track.

These port installed options carry a higher profit margin than the factory installed options which may explain things a bit.

The trunk spoiler has both double stick tape and 4 bolt studs which have to be drilled.

I ordered a trunk spoiler from the local Lexus dealership for my newly purchased 2016 es350. I wasn't told by the parts personnel that there was an additional cost of $75 to purchase a template for the 4 bolt holes until the order came in. Had I known that a template wasn't included, I wouldn't have made the purchase. The dealers installation charge is an additional $200. I would appreciate any ideas on how to install the spoiler without a template. Thanks in advance.

That is what I was concerned about.

I was just advised by my dealer that the unwanted port installed options have been deleted and everything appears to be in order.

I had the illuminated door sills installed. Kinda nice. I'm wondering if you could play dumb and let those things get installed then tell the salesman you didn't order that and he'll have to eat it and to give you the car you ordered??

The rear bumper appliqué should be removable. I got it also--HAD to get it just like you. Silly advertising. However, it is a tough plastic. I would think being "newly applied" you could remove it easily.

I can't speak for the rear spoiler.
