Default Software upgrades

Before I decided to buy my ES 300h, I was looking at a Lincoln MKZ too and signed up for their equivalent of this forum. One thing I read about was that Lincoln recently upgraded the software for the car. Assuming they are accurate statements, they are not trivial changes, like...

"Improvements include raising the maximum pure electric speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph and shortening engine warm-up time"

Regardless of whether Ford/Lincoln is doing this reactively (because of potential legal issues with their MPG claims) or proactively, it's still nice to get the occasional upgrade.

Anyway, as an owner of precisely four days I have no track record with Lexus. Does Lexus have a history of upgrading the software on their cars (for any component - engine management, nav system, comfort features, safety features, etc)?

Thanks.

Mark

Very good question and I've wondered the very same thing. Now this is purely speculation on my part, but Toyota utilizes a very conservative hybrid programming to achieve a longer battery life cycle.
