I hate to admit this about the ES, but...
My wife's Buick LaCrosse rides smoother and is quieter than my ES350.
A lot has to do with the POS Bridgestone tires on the ES. As soon as I can I'll slap some Michelin's
on the ES.

I looked at and test drove the Buick before I comitted to buy the 350. I actually like the styling and the available colors on the Buick more than the Lexus. However, IMO the ride in the Lexus is superior. One thing that really dissuaded me from buying the Buick was the cloth sun roof cover inside the vehicle. I don't know what GM was thinking when they designed that. Additionaly, I think that the Lexus accelerates more smoothly from stop. Liked them both, but Lexus came out on top for me. One thing I should mention: My car came with Michelins...

Before we took delivery of our ES350 we had the dealer install Michelins and they did it for free! Our 2010 Camry had the Michelins and they were so quiet. When we took delivery of our 2013 Camry SE we had them install the Michelins. I wonder why they put Bridgestones on some Camry's and ES's and some with Michelins?!?

I too tested against the LaCrosse. Matter of fact, it was my second choice when I started looking, the first was the Buick Regal. 3rd was Lincoln MKZ and last was Cadillac. Lexus wasn't even in consideration. "Overpriced Camrys".
When finished, the Regal came in last, with the LaCrosse just ahead of it.
The Buick vehicles all had very poor visibility with large pylons and a low roof. Rear visibility was especially poor. Plus, you sit back like a jet pilot in the cockpit, which further clips the view. The seats were uncomfortable. And the ride was poor in the Regal, and the LaCrosse was certainly less than the Lexus. Lexus was quieter (I thought), not by enough to be a deal breaker, but enough to notice.
Finally, the way the Lexus maintains it's value, and it's dependability, when added to the seat comfort, smooth ride and quiet cabin finally won me over.
I may not stay with Lexus, but I doubt I'll even look at Buick again. BTW - the Michelins do make an amazing difference.

I agree. I'm sure that a lot of ES buyers have crossed shopped the cars mentioned. According to Consumer Reports Owner Surveys the LaCrosse, Regal and Verano's Reliability has fallen to Below Average. Hopefully GM can turn that around as Buick's are selling very well for them.
