Default Finally Took Some Pictures!

I've had the ES for a month and a half, and the Chicago area has had it wettest April on record. The sun came out today! Here's a couple pic's:

I'm thinking I should remove the side molding. They were already on when I saw it. I don't think they really protect much anyways. Any thoughts on the subject?

The side moldings do seem to clutter up the side of the car and detract from the overall lines. I'm not sure how well they protect either. My vote would be to remove them but you can't go wrong leaving them on either.

The car looks great.

Nice shots, I like the rims

Neutral on the molding but am jealous that you get to keep your front bumper free of license plates (required here)

I think those side moldings give your very looking car a tad bit of an extra flair.

It makes it unique without looking tacky, i like em.

And not to mention someone can sure shoot an ES like a pro

I think the car looks better with body side moldings, but don't necessarily think they look great. Just a little better than no moldings at all.

As a 300h owner, I am jealous of the panoramic roof! (I suspect a few others ES300h owners would agree!)

Thanks for all the kind remarks. I'll keep debating removing the moldings a little longer. They do seem to match the color perfectly, at least.

Yeah, required here, too. They just don't seem to bother you about it much. Tint your windows and they act like you robbed a bank, though.

I have tint and front plates on my cars but no moldings. The two tint shops I used both said how you drive and what you drive seem to determine how the local authorities treat tinted windows.

I went with legal % on both cars with no problems to date. I hear the Chicago cops are tougher on them, legal or not.

Mine has them, too. Peace of mind for me. A good question is what your reaction will be if you remove them and then have to park in a bad spot, or if you get that first ding right where they were? My black IS had a ding removed by the pros who are at the dealer for $99, but the paint was still intact and at a spot they could work on. Nobody can decide for you.

It's nice to see a car with some color. Love the Red. I am tired of seeing a Sea of Silver cars everywhere. Drab in my opinion.

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Very nice Mike. I just ordered the molding for my Satin Cashmere. Good photos too!

I'm curious as to how you would get your molding off without damaging the paint.
