Default ML subwoofer

I own a 2013 ES350 UL with ML sound system, the bass sounds terrible. It sounds like the subwoofer is distorting. I know there was an ongoing post but not sure if there was any resolved issue or solution. If anyone knows what the solution is, please reply. Thanks

Just go to your dealer and ask to have the amp replaced, the system will sound awesome with the new amp.

How can you tell if the amp has been replaced? If not, what options available for a car out of warranty? Low bass is distorted, even on lower EQ settings and around volume mid 40.

Can I drop in a new sub or do I have to do something else?

I had the dealer replace my amp but all it did was push more sound into the side speakers and take it away from the lackluster sub. Eventually I replaced the stock sub with a 12" sub that has it's own amp. I'm much happier with it now.

Yep the modified amp reduces Baas to the rear Sub and pushes more Bass to the Front door speakers is all.

So is the recommendation for better bass just to put in a powered subwoofer and to borrow the signal from the existing sub? Or has anyone had success replacing the existing ML sub?
