Default Nuluxe vs Leather on 2013 ES300h

Any pro's / cons on each one apart from the price. I have a 04 GX with leather and it has held up pretty well over the years. I do regular cleaning and maintenance on them.

I dont know how resilient Nuluxe will be. Any existing owners can comment on the softness and the quality after some use. It looks nice and clean at the dealership but need some real world use experience.

I had a '13 ES350 loaner for 4 days before I got my '13 ES300h UL. The '13 ES350 was a base model with Nuluxe. My '13 ES300h UL, of course, have the perforated leather seats. As far as comfort, I found both Nuluxe and leather seats had the same level of comfort. The new seats have more lateral support (hugs more) than the perforated leather seats in my '11 ES350. Although, in my opinion, the Nuluxe would seem to hold up better than the leather will over time.

Good to hear that Kenny. I really like the model with UL options but don't like exterior color that I saw at the dealership. Isn't Nuluxe fairly new? I mean how can we tell.

How do you like your leather option.

I think it's the first time for Nuluxe as a standard item on the ES models. Lexus offer different leather seat material on Luxury & UL models. As for the seats in my UL, I like them...they're a bit softer than Nuluxe. But I probably would have been just as happy with the Nuluxe.

If you take care of the leather, it'll hold up fine.

However, IMHO its a pretty low grade leather, a downgrade from my 2010 which was a downgrade from my 2003. I honestly think the NuLuxe feels and looks nicer, if only you could get it with the cooled seats.

NuLuxe has been standard on the CT since it was introduced.

Many BMW and MB models come standard with leatherette. We were recently shopping those brands and initally i didn't like the idea, but after looking closer, they aren't bad at all and both us would have been fine with it.

And the NuLuxe is MUCH better than BMW's leatherette or MB's MBTEX.

No, I wouldnt use any conditioners, etc. I would use a weak interior type cleaning product llike Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer or Ultima's Interior Shampoo Gel.

I'd follow the owner's manual on cleaning the interior, or anything gentle meant for vinyl (non-petroleum based cleaner). Also remember you'll be seating on the seats with whatever you apply, so be careful of what you put on it, least you want a shiny bottom.
