Default Getting the muck off Liquid Graphite Rims

As soon as I purchase my long awaited ES we have a rare bout of rainy weather in SoCal. It is due for a good exterior wash and I have noticed the rims getting that film of grease on them. What is the best way (best product) to remove the muck and get them back to the original shine?

Thank you,
-Lisa

Whatever car wash soap you use on the paint. The wheels are clear coated so that's all you need.

+1 on the car soap. You don't want to ruing the finish. Just gave Monica a bath last night and hit up the wheels.

Yeah I personally never use any kind of spray on wheel cleaner. As long as you clean them regularly, you should never have any trouble cleaning the wheels with just your wash mitt and car wash soap. Wheel cleaners can be VERY harsh and risk damaging the finish. A member on the GS board had that happen to his 2013 GS.

Thanks for the tip. Is the tire foam ok or should just armor all the tires with a rag?

I personally don't like the foam because it gets everywhere. it won't hurt anything its just messy.

I like to use a little foam or microfiber applicator like this for armor all:

I like that applicator. I ended up waiting to do the first wash to get a new sponge, I will pick up one if those as well. Glad I waited, it's pouring outside!

I've been a foam kind of guy for years. As Steve mentioned it is a little messy but after a while you develop a technique that minimizes it. It works well and is quick and easy.
