What you need to do is figure out what the buyout is on your lease now, and see if someone can get you that figure on trade or by selling it yourself. Thats the only way to get you out of your lease.

Generally the buyout is the lease end residual value, plus all the payments you have remaining.

You may or may not be hosed on miles if you wait, as long as they can get you the residual as a trade the mileage doesn't matter...

about ready to pull trigger on a 350 with everything. Sticker is $49k, dealer selling for $45k (before TTL).

I think this is the best deal I can get at the moment here in CA, anyone with any recent UL+ML quotes or pricing suggestions?

Two things to keep in mind about buying a Lexus.
1) The Washington, DC metro area has the cheapest prices on Lexus vehicles.
2) If you are a member of various 'clubs' you need to use that to your advantage.

When i purchased my vehicle I had them check the price for being a member of USAA, Navy Federal Credit Union, Armed Forced Vet, Costco, and AAA. I realize not everyone can benefit from these, but just about anybody can be a member of Costco and AAA which are both very beneficial.
Seraph78, what is the tax rate out there? Also, if you don't mind, what are the specifics on the color, interior and options you got?

It looks like you got a killer deal but it's hard to say without knowing the color, interior options and exterior options.

UL with ML start off at 48.4K msrp
And those 2 options are generally packaged together. Even in the brochure they listed as a combined option although they are seen separately as "individual options" as well.

Luxury with nav start off with 46.3k msrp

Remote starter and hid will add 500 each but hid will pretty much be automatically added for UL for standard configs

What dealer gave you this deal? PM me if you prefer. Best I'm finding so far in NY is 1k under MSRP (2k over invoice). Did you buy or lease?

Whenever I hear someone say they paid xxx under invoice price, just makes me wonder. Is the invoice price what the dealer showed them, is it from edmunds.com, or consumer reports? I never believe an invoice that a dealer shows me. Also, did they have a trade in?

I got a killer deal on my Lexus 350, but I took it in the shorts on my trade in because there are tons of them on the market and the turnaround time to sell my used care is really long.

The best way to know a good deal is when someone bought a new car and had no trade in.

Just my 2 cents.

Edit: apparently I didn't take it in the shorts on my trade-in, I just saw my car for sale and they weren't asking much more than they paid for it.

I have no trade, so the price is the price. I have in fact seen (and purchased) cars for less than invoice. Dealer still makes a profit on the holdback, and future profit on service and maintenance (they hope). Plus they get to move a unit, which helps with their bonuses and allocations from the manufacturer.

Mine was a straight cash purchase - no financing - no trade - purchase price was (MSRP $46,252) $43,200. That included $80 for doc preparation.

Nothing I said was meant toward anyone that recently posted anything. I love buying cars, it's a natural high for me to deal with the car people.... love to haggle price. But I never believe anything they show me. To me, a good deal is that I am happy with the price I paid for the car. If I am happy, then I got a good deal. :-)
