I just traded in my 2006 Lexus IS 350 (72,000 miles) for a Lexus ES 300h with blind spot monitor, HID headlamps, power rear sunshade, luxury package, navigation, intuitive parking assist, rain-sensing wipers, leather trimmed shift ****, and accessory package. Here's the breakdown.

- Trade in value - $14,000.00
- Price of ES 300h - $44,000.00
- $2,162.00 off MSRP
- To sweeten the deal, I got them to throw in a complimentary 3M clear bra before I take delivery

The car is slated to arrive at the Port of Jacksonville, Florida in two weeks.

Stand by for pictures.

I've been getting quotes from a few dealerships in Socal. The best is $1000 over invoice $44,705.

JerryKK, who was your sales guy Lexus of Santa Barbara? Still waiting for a quote from them.

As I stated in another thread - just because I (or someone else) got a great deal at a dealership - it doesn't mean the next person will. It depends on many factors and it doesn't hurt to be lucky as wll!

Has anyone tried using Costco to buy their car?

That is indeed a good deal if those are the actual figures - I say that because that is over a 9% discount which means the dealer took a loss on the car!

"Has anyone tried using Costco to buy their car?

I was referred to the dealer I ordered mine from through Costco. The dealer here basically offered any vehicle in inventory or ordered at $1000 over invoice. Another dealer I had gone to contacted me and said they would sell any car in stock at $500 over.

I think the Costco program is like TruCar where they get a 'finder's fee' for the referral. We have several Lexus dealers in the area and frankly all the salesmen were jerks except for the one referred by Costso. Including the salesman I bought my '11 ES350 from.

We bought our mom a car for her bday thru the Costco referral program. It was the cheapest we could get in three different states (the sibs are spread out in 3 states and no dealer in 3 states could match the offer from the Costco referral).

I'll most likely consider using Costco again.

Yep, that is indeed correct. And surprisingly that is without any negotiation. The dealer quoted 4k off over the phone. I had to ask 5 times to make sure he wasn't quoting me on the 2012 and not the 2013. Turns out it was indeed on the new one. I was hesitant to buy because I really thought they may not be selling. Hope that is not the case. But I still don't get why they would discount it so much.

By the way, another dealer I called in ATL quoted me 40,000 even on the car. Still a great deal.

Wow, 40 per month for the U.S. is nothing (less than 1 per state). Are you sure that number is correct? If the number is accurate they need to step up production.

Last month Lexus sold 5,500 ES's total. 40 cars would equate to less than 1% being 300h UL's.
