The current LS, even under acceleration, is (arguably) the quietest car I've ever sampled (perhaps only equaled by the massive late 60s-late 70s Lincoln Continentals). I don't want to sound too skeptical, but I'll believe they can make an ES ride quieter than an LS when I see it......or rather, hear it.
Mike, there was an article posted recently that said the ES will be the quietest Lexus ever.I don't know how either.

No problem. I wasn't questioning you as a poster....just the general concept of an LS-quiet ES. Automakers sometimes promise more than they can deliver. Buick's Quiet Tuning is an example. They make a big deal about it in ads, but new Buicks, to me, don't seem any quieter to me today (despite my somewhat aging ears) than they did 40 years ago, in the 60s and 70s. The new Buick Verano, though, is indeed quiet by 25K compact-car-standards

People who say ES is identical to a Camry are either Lexus hater or Camry owner who can't afford a ES to make themselves feels better.

"the quietest ever" claim is probably 1/2 true and 1/2 pre-launch hype. All brands do it to different degrees to generate interest in new models. It's part of the marketing plans for everyone.
Although I don't agree with it, the Camry comparisons will continue. I've owned 2 ES350's and spent time in a Camry XLE as well as a 2011 Avalon and there is a difference. Whether one wants to pay for it is a different matter.

Yes,it's probably 1/2 true but it better be quieter than the present ES when you say it is.
My son in law owned a '08 LS460L. and it rode nice and was quiet but I wasn't really impressed with both that much.

But quietest Lexus ever made means it would be quieter then a 2013 LS600hL. I am with mmarshall, I believe it when I hear it. I would bet money on it being false.
