Yes, many have complained about issues when running a/c on recirc all the time. I only use it when I hit a dust cloud or some other heavy pollution, otherwise it’s fresh air only. Be aware that the micro filter only operates on recirc.

Hey all - wanted to update you all here that my issues have been RESOLVED.

I went to a mechanic who did a full deep cleaning and mold remediation of the ventilation system. Took it for a several hour drive and feel 100%. No issues at all. I'll be sure to use the recir sparingly in the future.

Very relieved that this is fixed finally!

Yes, I was wondering if there could be mold in the A/C ducts. Good to know that you were able to have it cleaned out.
Did your mechanic say anything about why it happened or what could be done to keep it from happening again?

the mechanic mentioned to limit use of recirculating air and use the outside air option. hopefully that helps

What I and many others have done, is remember to manually set it to outside air a few minutes prior to parking and shutting the vehicle off. This is really only necessary in warmer months when the A/C is running, as Auto mode always uses recirculation mode when the temp is above ~72 degrees. I had a very obvious mold scent when my old ES was new, which was completely remedied after starting this routine.

Yes, auto recirculate is annoying. Never understood that, when it’s 100 deg inside car and 80 outside it wants to recirculate and cool the interior 100 deg air instead of taking in 80 deg air and cooling that faster. I never use recirculate.
I live in a dry climate and rarely notice any smell , but on rainy days when the humidity is up it will sometimes smell. Before parking I’ll run it on full heat for a minute or two to “dry out” the system.

Default Having headache while driving my lexus gs350

I just bought a new-to-me 2018 ES350 last month. If I drive the car for more than 20-30 minutes or so, I start to get a very bad migraine headache. I get a little tingling on my face.

None of my friends or family that ride with me experience any of this. It's just me. I did a visual inspection for mold but didn't find anything. I replaced the cabin air filter but it looked clean in there. The car itself is in incredibly good condition. The engine is not burning any oil.

I'm seriously hoping that maybe this is due to a cleaner the dealership used to detail the car, but I'm doubting it. I have all the doors open and I'm trying to air out anything that could be causing this.

Prior to this purchase, I only drove older cars. My other cars are a 2003 Highlander and a 2006 corolla - and I feel 100% fine when driving these cars.

I'm at a loss here. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of issue before?

Thanks in advance!
i have 2013 GS 350 and I'm having the same issue with my car. When I'm riding in another car l, i don't have a headache but when I'm in this car about 10 mins, i start feeling headache.

I also get severe headaches after driving my RX 350 more than 5-7 minutes. I have EMF sensitivities and per-cancerous thyroid nodules which start to swell after 10 minutes of driving. We have pulled the DCM fuse, which helps, but I am still having issues. We do not have any personal mobile devices connected to Blue Tooth and the technician tried to disable Blue Tooth at the time of purchase, but I still see it as an option on the main menu.

I also experience headaches and swollen thyroid when the car is parked in the garage at night. We tried putting the key faub in "sleep mode" at night and store the key faub in a faraday pouch. Again, this helps, but I still intermittently notice signals from the car. I do not have any issues if we park the car on the street/down the block (which is fine for summer, but winter is just around the corner so I need a solution soon).

I realize this is out of the ordinary, but this is a real issue I am struggling with. Please provide any advice or guidance on what we can do to disable unnecessary signals from the car (GPS, radar, ....).

Have you done any statistically significant blind tests about your ability to detect Bluetooth?

I have not done a statistically significant blind test regarding Bluetooth. If you have a suggestion for a facility that does so, I may be interested.

Regardless, I still need guidance on how to address these issues with my car. Are there some settings that can be changed (mechanically or systematically) to turn off unnecessary signals?
