Any ES problems? before buying...
Hello all,
I had a 95 ES, loved it
Currently have a CT200h paperweight as the head gasket blew, like sooo many CT / Prius engines do
looking for another lexus hybrid - are there any life ending repairs for the 6rh gen ES (or Camry equal) that I should consider? ...more than happy to replace the battery pack at any time, just looking for unusual or unexpected big repairs.
thanks!!

Most important thing with these 2AR engines are on time oil changes, or else you might see oil consumption as the mileage racks up. But being a 2016 up is a non issue, most of it would be done by the dealer on the Lexus schedule.
Also check that the sunroof drains are not blocked and that they don’t clunk. Some are known to have issues regardless of the year.

The Lexus ES is one of the most reliable cars on the market. Especially the hybrid 300h version. It is very unlikely you will have known issues like the Gen 3 Prius head gasket. However, there are two low risk items:
- The hybrid battery after 12-15 years will need repair as in all Toyota Lexus hybrids. The model specific issue is that the traction rebuilders are reporting modules from the 300h/Camry/Avalon are usually in below average health when they try to recondition them compared to lighter hybrids. Maybe slightly under designed.
- The brake booster might fail. There is a recall campaign with 10 year warranty.
