Overnight Battery Total Drain

Every year or so, The batterry goes dead overnight. Will not even open power locks. Jump it and it runs fine for months. I thought
Lexus solved this pain in the butt!

oh talked to the dealter he helpfully said buy a trickle charger if you do not run the car often....where as we run it every day!

There so many electric and electronic devices in your car that there is less juice left from the alternator to fully recharge the battery, making up for the high starting current draw. If you aren’t making longer trips every so often, get yourself the trickle charger and use it, or a regular charger and charge overnight every few months. Also consider a portable, rechargeable “quick shot” start booster and keep it with you. A lot of short trips without a longer run will cause exactly what you are experiencing. Had it happen to me and that’s what the battery shop explained. Hasn’t happened since.

What year vehicle, and how old is the battery?

You most definitely do not require a trickle charger if you're using your car regularly. There is a drain coming from somewhere that apparently occurs when you use or change something in your car. My car sits for days and sometimes a week or more without use and starts up immediately without difficulty and the battery is 3 years old. The Avalon that I traded for this Lexus had a 6 year old battery when I let it go and it worked perfectly. Never was charged... Something pulling the battery down. :dunno:

Check the resting voltage and report back.

how did they solve it the first time? i had it happening to mine and the keyfob module along with glass breakage sensor was found to be causing parasitic drain. they replaced both and it hasnt died since. it hasnt been a year yet though so we will see lol
