6TH GEN vs 5th GEN

Hey guys, I haven't posted in a few years. Anyways, I sold my 2007 ES350 and upgraded to a 2017 Luxury model.
Here are my takeaways -

PRO's:
- This generation seems to give me road feel. When I drive I feel much more connected to the road. Is this just in my mind?
- Love the additional technology. My 2007 didn't even have Bluetooth audio
- The interior layout seems to have a slight cockpit feel. Everything seems to be easier to reach

CON's:

- I'm sitting noticeably closer to the ground that the previous generation. I feel like I'm driving my old 1990 Ford Probe. Just something I have to get used to now.

Mine is about 13" from the seat top to the ground. When you are 6'3" the seat is as low and as far back as possible. When you're 60+, you go in by your rear end first. It's basically the height of the old toilets. Sports cars always sit low. If you watch Indy and Formula One cars, not only do they sit extremely low, the are also smaller, fairly young and very athletic people. Yet, they need help getting in theirs! My 84 Dodge Daytona and my sister's 2014 Sonata sat about this low. My next will be a Rav-4 or CR-V. Great visibility and easy to access. Heck, maybe a Lexus NX or RX?

I'll be 54 in October and I have my eye on a new Rav4 in the future for the same reason.

My ES is wonderful, well made and has plenty of power. I drove a CR-V on a trip to beach for a few days and it was one of the most fun vehicles I have experienced. I couldn't pass up on saving $$$ on the Lexus, though. Long story, but a happy ending. Reliable used SUVs really hold their value. Maybe next time?

That RAV Prime looks like the cat's whiskers....IF you can find one!
