Lexus ES with Sport Mode Question.

Anyone have any experience with Sport/Sport+ mode on this version of the ES?
Was thinking of purchasing a 2013 one?
Does the sport mode on the ES just stiffen things up and make the driving heavy?
If anyone has any input on how a 2013 ES with Sport mode is compared to the driving dynamics of a GS that would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If I remember correctly, Sport mode modifies the throttle response, increases steering effort and changes gear mapping. The changes are very subtle. The ES is no comparison to the GS as far as driving dynamics. I've had both and prefer the GS by far,

Thank you.

For sure the ES is totally different than the GS - I guess in line with the concept behind each car!

I drive my ES350 only in Sport Mode. I feel the change is quite noticeable, especially the steering in sport mode. I’ve always felt it is far too light in the other modes.

The throttle response and gear changes are also nicer, it gives the car that little kick when accelerating.

FYI, the ES of this generation doesn’t have a Sport+ mode.

I usually drive in normal mode but I dunno what's different between Normal And Eco mode? I mean Normal mode says ECO on screen as well if you don't put down the gas heavy ... Don't feel difference

In eco mode the throttle response is more dull and the a/c system doesn't work as hard which is supposed to save gas. I'm not sure what else changes.

Also steering tightens up somewhat. I find that helpful on the highway. Don’t need to make as many small adjustments/correction.

I do feel Sport models the steering is tighter! Which feels good on Highway YES

But in Normal and Eco, Steering feel same to me.!

Normal mode and ECO mode are, in fact, two different modes with different throttle response. Also, ECO mode uses more efficient settings for the air conditioner.

The green ECO indicator that you see going on and off periodically on the display has nothing to do with whether you are driving in the Normal mode or the ECO mode. Instead, it is an indicator of whether you are driving in a fuel efficient manner. If you are driving in a fuel efficient manner, that indicator will light up. If you are not, it won't light up. If the ECO indicator bothers you, you can go into the car's settings and disable it.

Steering is, in fact, the same in Normal or Eco mode. It only changes/stiffens in Sport mode.

All of this is explained in your owners manual. It might be worth a read.
