Default TPMS Update

Just a quick note: I had previously checked around regarding the feasibility of a second set of tires/rims with TPMS sensors and how complicated it might be to get the sensors registering properly with the car. Installed aftermarket rims/season tires with Autel TPMS sensors this morning. They were cloned to match OEM TPMS id codes. Hit the reset button under the dash, got the 3 blinks. Ignition "OFF", then start the engine. Drove about 1/2 block and all four Autel sensors transmitting accurate pressures; no warning lights. One thing I notice is that when first starting the car I get "dashes" instead of pressures but after driving a couple of hundred yards the pressures display properly. No need to go to the Lexus or Toyota dealer for future seasonal tire changes. (The car was horribly confused when the winter rims/tires/sensors were loaded in the trunk and back seat though... Just couldn't figure out what was where.)

YMMV. Did not work for me - I still get dashes with 4 Autels. But surptisingly it worked when I was running a setup with 1 original and 3 autel sensors. Autel sensors are a bit more sensitive so sometime 2 sensors initiated at the same time and the cars cannot identify sensor locations.
