Default Accolades for the ES

In case you did not see the other day J D Power released their dependability award for 2020. Lexus's streak of #1 for eight years in a row was broken and they slipped to #2. Out of the last ten years, Lexus has been #1 eight times and #2 twice. Buried in their report, they stated the ES was the most reliable car in the 31 years they have been doing the survey. In a separate note, the IIHS just announced 21 cars that received the highest rating in safety and the ES is one.

I'm glad you brought this up since the other thread was closed, and I had a tangent comment on it: Since when is a car the size of an ES considered a "compact!?"

Does that mean my CRX is a Matchbox car?

Agree. How can the ES be a compact and the Avalon is a "Large Car".

Makes no sense.

PS-remember when people were wondering if a built in USA car could keep the same quality as built in Japan. Looks like the definitive answer is YES.

Yea I wanted to ask that as well... a compact premium??? I was going to say at least a mid-sized if not large premium car..haha.

But seriously on another note who really cares about JD Power reviews? I used to take them serious about 10 years ago but now I don't believe any dealership that posts JD Power ranking or rewards.... There's other reputable sites that provide reviews.

J D Power does not do reviews. What they do is take information provided by car owners. Tell me what would be more accurate then that??? They are the only source that directly surveys owners.

I don't really care about problems in the first 90 days...but long term reliability, yes I sure care about that.

You're right.. it doesn't make any sense and I have often wondered how the ES could be referred to as a compact... I'm a big boy and I'm telling you.. this isn't a compact car... Interestingly enough when I was shopping for a new car back in 2014 I was considering buying another Cadillac, specifically the CTS..... everytime I would get in or out of the car I felt really cramped... I was fine once I got in.. but getting in and out was a real pain.. Finally I figured it out, it was the size of the door opening.. Hated getting in and out of that car.. My former Avalon and Lexus were much more comfortable getting in and out of. Just one old man's opinion.

I would try to say consumer reports but lately i'm not too sure about them....
Edmunds is another site that I do like their reviews and I have to compare their information to what's provided by CR.
