Default Rattle under my es300

Has anyone every experienced a rattle from underneath their ES? I have this rattle that is heard when I go over any bump at a slow speed, thought it was the spare had come loose which was loose but tightened it up and still the same result! almost sounds like something in the suspension has come loose. It is a 2014 with 54k miles, thanks for any thoughts!

I’ve got a rattle on my 13 hybrid coming from the front passenger side. It almost sounds like a loose rubber boot over the strut. When I had a bad Toyota dealership replaced the struts on my 09, they left the rubber boots on despite them not being connected to anything at the bottom. They were just hanging over them.

Not too familiar with the brakes on Lexus, but I’ve had experience with brake pads, and the spring that keeps them in the caliper piston disintegrating from rust, and making the sound you describe. Didn’t affect the braking, but was annoying. New pads cured it.

Theres also threads about brakes making noise when backing up, may be related.

I have this noise too in my 14 ESh. 59,000 miles now. Seems like a loose cable banging around. I have seen threads on this in the past. Frankly I am disappointed that this is happening in a 5 year old Lexus with only 59K miles.

There are several plastic panels under the car that are held on by a few push pins. Maybe some of the pins came loose and a panel is rattling on the bottom of the floor. Sometimes rocks get thrown on top of these panels and rattle around. You can check this yourself if you dont mind crawling around under your car. Otherwise most any mechanic should be able to do it.

I have this same issue on my 2018 ES 350. I'm taking it in tomorrow to have it checked out. It's loud and very annoying. It sounds like something is going to fall off from underneath the car.

Any time you hear a rattle from under the car, the first thing to check is the exhaust heat shields. They're just tack-welded on, and those welds crack fairly easily. When the car is cool, get under there and tap on them with a finger. If they're loose, it'll be obvious.

You are right! Just got a call from the Lexus service department and they said the heat shield was loose and they tighten it. Crossing my fingers that was all it was.

2014 Es hybrid with 110,000 miles. I have the same noise. Area seems to be in middle of dash or firewall. No one can identify the knocking. I cannot get with the mechanics; they get just as frustrated when they cannot fix something. One day it will be found.
