Default Quick question - side windows

Hi all. Just a quick question. My front 2 side windows open with a pretty loud crack if they've been closed for any significant time. Sounds like what happens when you roll down a window that's frozen shut by ice, but it's in the 50's here. They're really tight against the frame when they're all the way up, which is what's causing the noise as they break loose. Is this normal for these cars, or do they need an adjustment?

Thanks!

I previously had a 2013 ES, and I now have a 2017 ES. I have not experienced anything like what you have described with either of those two Generation 6 ES vehicles.

I too replaced a '13 with a '17. The '13 did not do that but the '17 does. It seems to be at the top, back corner of the front windows. Its kind of a cross between a crack and a squeak - more of a squeak on mine. I bought it at a year old with 12K miles and noticed it when examining it. I told the salesman I thought it needed a little dab of silicone and I guess the tech did that because it wasn't doing it when I bought it. It comes back every now and then and I just put a little dab of silicone (comes in a tube from NAPA - good stuff to have around) in the upper, back corner and rub it in down the back channel. I wouldn't put it anywhere else because it would probably smear up the window. I rarely put the windows down though - only a little sometime when its parked outside on a hot, sunny day. I'm used to that routine because I still have an '89 Corolla wagon with crank windows and I give it the same treatment when the windows get to cranking hard. Hope that works for you.

Default My 2018 windows crack also

My 2018 does that here in Florida and the dealer lubricates the window seals when I take it in for maintenance. They said the heat or the cold make the windows stick to the gaskets. They do it at no charge.
