2016 ES 350 Engine Noise at high speeds...
 

I recently bought a 2016 CPO Lexus ES350 Luxury package with 24,000 miles on it. Clean Carfax, clean history (from what I can tell), 1-owner leased vehicle from same Lexus dealer where I bought it. I recently started to notice a rumbling engine sound only when I drive above 40mph on highway (I did not notice this during test drives). During high speeds over 40mph, the engine makes this low rumbling noise that goes in and out constantly regardless if I step on the gas pedal or not. Engine does not rattle or make clicking sounds. But rather constant low-vibration, muzzled sound for 2 seconds, then stops, then another 2 seconds and continues. The sound goes away during lower speeds below 40 mph. Seems strange and curious if this is anything serious I need to deal with. I'm thinking of going either to Lexus dealer to have it inspected...or to independent mechanic.

Take that car in and get it looked at. It is under full warrantee as a CPO. If it can be duplicated and Lexus does not do the famous "it is normal operation" then it will be covered.
