smart key ?
 

i have a 07 es350 with the smart push-button remote start key im wondering
with my 2016 i know its a different key so i was looking and see that on ebay i can get keys for like around 100 bucks
does anyone know what a dealership will charge to program this key for my vehicle ? or can a key that is used from another vehcile be reporgramed to anther vehcile or is it coded to one car and cant be changed ?
or will i be fine with a used pre owned smart key transponder off ebay ?

If i recall correctly lexus keys cannot be reused once programmed. Some people have ways of resetting them but since its not an official way to do it, it may not be worth it. Dealers should charge around $50-$60 just for programming (half an hour of labor). If you have a mini vci cable you can program it yourself with techstream.
