Default Audio Surround and auto volume leveler

Wondering what everyone's settings are in regards to these 2 options.

what exactly does surround mode do? only thing i notice is that when on the highs are a bit clearer while bass response is slightly lower. Is there anything else?

To me it seems that surround sound also adds some echo here and there - didn’t like it.
I have the auto leveling on although I feel that it also changes the sound, in fact I believe it INCREASES bass level the faster you drive (the noisier the interior gets), but overall I think it does its job well.

The surround DSP setting is a gimmick and should be turned off. It's purpose is to move certain frequencies to individual speakers, which is supposed to add a feeling of separation. It's a poor recreation of Dolby Pro-logic from back in the 90's.

The auto volume leveler is supposed to turn the volume up and down based on cabin noise. I have not found it to do much, though, so I just leave it off as well.

I turned off surround sound yesterday and was shocked how much of an improvement it was.
