Default Hunting for a ultra luxury

I'm on the hunt for a Ultra luxury package with ml system produced between 2013-2015 in Japan.

Feels like looking for a needle in a haystack. I find it strange I can find tons of LS ultra luxury's but never any GS or ES luxury/ ultra luxury.

I can only find 1 in my area.

I've noticed you posting in both this 6th gen and 7th gen ES forums looking for vehicles with ML. Today, I see you posting in the GS forum asking the same things. Have you driven all 3 variants? There's quite a bit of difference between them, not to mention cost. If I were you, I would narrow my search down to a single model, then look for options I want.

That said, I believe others have mentioned to you the rarity of the UL ES's. I bought mine in early 2013, when they were still plentiful. It was harder to find them a few months later, so finding a used one will be equally difficult.

Throughout the 6 year run of the Generation 6 ES, the number of UL cars that dealers received was quite small. Typically, dealers got a few of them at the very beginning of each model year. When those were gone, most dealers did not have access to more UL ES for while. Around the middle of each model year, dealers might have gotten a few more, and they might have gotten another few toward the very end of the model year. On the other hand, supplies of Luxury Package, Premium Package, and base ES were quite plentiful.

I also suspect that those who did buy an UL ES may have been less inclined to feel the need to upgrade to a newer car than those who bought a lesser-equipped ES.

So, the number of UL cars that have come back to dealers as trade-ins or lease returns would be quite small compared to the numbers of ES with lower-tiered packages. I also suspect that, when a dealer does get an UL ES as a trade-in or lease return, that car does not sit on the dealer's lot for very long. On the other hand, especially base and Premium package ES without navigation systems can sit unsold on dealer lots for an extended period of time.

If you really want a used UL ES, it might be a good strategy to talk to the used car managers at multiple Lexus dealers and request that they let you know when they do get one in. I suspect that many of the UL cars that dealers get end up being sold to "waiting list" customers as soon as they arrive at the dealerships and without any need for the dealers to even advertise those cars. Of course, when a car is in limited supply, your opportunity to negotiate a reduced price is also limited.

I need to compare the 6th and 7th gen es and put it against the 4th gen es. I am really after the quietest car. The es ultra luxury and gs ultra luxury look evenly matched option wise.

I need to see if the rear wheel drive gs is noiser than the fwd es.

Wait... What happened to this 2012 UL ES you just "purchased"?

The 6th gen has the same engine and transmission as the 5th gen.
I don't understand why you're on all these different model forums, asking questions like you're seriously going to purchase one of them.

Default Looking at a ES 350h any thoughts on what to look for?

I'm looking for any information any one can provide pro's and con's about purchasing a 2017 350h hybrid. The car in the test drive really performed well but this is a jump up for me from a regular car to a luxury vehicle. If anyone has any useful tidbits we should be looking for when purchasing and even for negotiating the price it would be appreciated. Thanks and have a great day!

If you're interested in a hybrid vehicle you want the ES 300h - not the ES 350 which is a pure gas engine. Go online to various auto sales sites and compare prices. You'll come up with an average price being charged and also mileage should be comparative. If you find one it should still have a fair amount of factory warranty left so you'd be protected for repairs. Don't buy an extended warranty from the dealer or anyone else as it's a waste of money. Don't mention any trade-in until you've established a price on the new car. Then tell them you have a trade... When you find the car you seriously want, make the salesman an offer below what they're asking. Remember the most they can say is "no". If you don't ask you won't receive... GOOD LUCK and let us know how you make out.

Default Thanks

Yes, I meant the 300h and thanks for the feedback. Haven't had to look for a car in a while. Your feedback is appreciated. We've seen a few we like. The negotiating part is draining. Everyone has said the same thing about the extended warranty. The car still has a decent amount of warranty life left on it. Thanks again, your quick reply was helpful.

We had to special order our 2018 ES300h to get the UL equipment and the Nightfall/Flaxen colors.
Sixteen (16) weeks but we lease so it was an easy calculation, arrived the week before the 2014 lease matured.
