Navigation console stopped responding.
In the morning, when driving on my commute, the navigation console stopped responding.
I couldn't change radio resets; change the radio station via the tuning ****; turn off the radio; go to the navigation screen when I hit the "home" button; or adjust the volume.
The mouse pointer also disappeared.
It was fine when I turned my car on in the evening.

I would try to reboot the system. I have never tried doing it with my ES, but others have found that doing so has solved problems.
The system can be rebooted by pressing and holding the mode button (or it may be the volume down button) on the steering wheel for about 20 seconds. (I'm not sure whether it is the mode button or the volume down button, but, if you try one of them and it doesn't make the system reboot, try doing the same with the other one, and it should work.)
