The 6th gen has the same engine and transmission as the 5th gen.
I'm surprised you're surprised.

Just curious...if you bought that car last week, why were you in a different thread yesterday saying you were in the market for the same type of car?

Not to mention, the one he linked that matches what he said he purchased, shows it was $19,998.

Also, the 5th gen was based on the Camry.

Default wanted CPO extension of 3 more years

Price of Vehicle: $30, 250 OTD
Date of vehicle Purchased: 4/10/19
Year: 2016
350 or 300h? 300h
Mileage: 32k
Lexus Certified? Y plus three additional CPO years (almost 6 years of warranty with unlimited miles)
Interior Color: Light grey
Exterior Color: Nebula Gray Pearl
Included Packages: Nav, Lux Pack, Safety 2, Cross traffic, blah blah
New tires, two keys, etc.
Which Dealership: Nashville Lexus

We keep and drive our cars a lot and will put on 150k over the next six years. Wife wanted unlimited mileage warranty. Dealership gave us super discount on 3 year CPO VSA (under 2k) after we agreed on a price. We looked for the grey exterior and at first wanted parchment but didn't like the brown trim in some. Wanted heated/vent seats and safety features. Very happy we went with light grey seats. Local dealer wanted 36k for 2017 and would not budge so we went to Nashville from Charleston to get one at just under 28K. Wish that we could have done Lexus financing but dealer said that we must pay TN tax of 7 percent per Lexus. A good deal but would have been super deal if we could have gotten Lexus financing with military discount at our home dealer--those guys don't know how to "sell" and give you the BS that vehicle is priced right. That's why I bought another Lexus at Carmax (for a better deal, which tells you something).

I don't like spending more than 30K on a vehicle unless I know that a warranty will outrun my financing. We are so glad that we bought the ES 300h instead of a Camry (still nice for 2018 Hybrid) or 2019 Rav4 Hybrid (road noise). Getting 39-41 MPG. With Lexus I don't mind a previous generation vehicle, and especially a later 2016 in that generation.

Bought a 2017 ES last week via Carvana. My first online auto purchase. Must say it was an easy process, no hidden fees, and I had a week to send the car back with no questions asked (for 100% refund). I had my mechanic give it a full inspection and everything is perfect. I've been driving an '08 ES since 2011 and so far, I love the upgrade! Here are the details:

Price of Vehicle: $29,300
Date of vehicle Purchased: 4/8/2019
Year: 2017
350 or 300h? 350
Mileage: 22,600
Lexus Certified? No
Interior Color: Flaxen
Exterior Color: Caviar
Included Packages: Premium Pkg, Heated & Ventilated front seats, Park assist, Rear cross traffic alert (no nav)
Which Dealership: Carvana.com
Zip Code: 06032

I hear you on that. With my new Toyotas the longer the warranty in terms of mileage the greater chance it pays off. With 125K warranty on my Highlander I've had just the water pump and the head unit/nav addressed. Basically paid for itself nonetheless (tech stuff).

With the Lexus the longer the mileage warranty the greater the chance as well. I'm fairly confident that at over 150k five years from now that I'll have gotten my 2K back in a few repairs. At nine years old and still under warranty I should be ahead. If I were paying 4k for the warranty, then perhaps not. It will be interesting as a test case nonetheless.

Price of Vehicle: 18,500

Year: 2015
350 or 300h? 350
Mileage: 39,600
Lexus Certified? N (but under orig warranty for about a month more)
Interior Color: Grey
Exterior Color: Silver Lining Metallic
Included Packages: Luxury
Which Dealership: Private Party
Zip Code: 70806

It's was garage kept and included 4 new tires and has a full set of service records from the Lexus dealer. The only negative was the original owner ran over a traffic cone on the highway which resulted in some body damage that was repaired - very minor..less than $1000.
I feel like I did well with this one and looking forward to many trouble free years ahead.
