I sent an e-mail last night to the service consultant, and copied it to the general manager, requesting they provide a goodwill repair, and I am waiting for a response. If they do provide it, what about those rear door actuators???

I had a goodwill repair on the first one, and they did not offer it on the other one so I did it myself.

The service consultant just called and stated they got approval to replace both door actuators, which they had in stock, and he is finishing up the paperwork. I asked if I was going to have a problem with the rear and he said "they don't get cycled as much as the front." I told him I guess we will jump off that bridge if we get to it and he laughed. The Lexus gods were good to me.

I was considering changing one of the preferences I set to unlock all doors with the touch of the handle to only unlocking the driver door.

Was this a "Good Will" warranty?

All the service consultant told me was my request for goodwill repair was approved, and my paperwork does not even reference a warranty claim probably because the mileage warranty had expired. I considered calling Lexus Customer Service to create a record in case the rear door actuators fail, but the fact that the dealer replaced the front is a record.

Wdlugitch - so all was good in the end? I am having similar issues - 2016 with 48,000 miles; 2 of the door locks are doing this. I should probably get it fixed now - I also go to Longo Lexus. I am past time for warranty so my warranty is up at 50,000 miles. I'm tring to avoid going in to any mechanic right now with the Coronavirus stay at home recommendations, but I dont want to go past 50K and have to pay out of pocket.... not sure I will be capable to DIY this....

Bringing up this issue again. For me, the only one UNRELIABLE aspect of these 6th Gen ES's is these door lock actuators. I had one repaired just before warranty ran out, another repaired by dealer with OEM at around 60,000 miles (cost me $650), and now another door lock has gone. I really dont feel like paying $650 again and dont want to DIY with a cheapo one. Anyone have any other good ideas? Its a rear door, so I may just open and close it manually for now!
