Door actuator reset fix, didn't work!

.
12/09/2018 ***UPDATE*** After about a month the problem returned!

.

I know there are other threads on this problem, but I haven't seen this here.

I found this on CarGurus's site and it seems to be working. After trying this all the doors are working properly for over three weeks now.

Put all the windows down and hold the drivers window button down for 3 minutes, all the time keep the ignition switch on/engine off.

It's worth a try!

For those who have had a failing door actuator, it certainly is worth a try, and it could well save them a few hundred dollars.

When the actuator fails it's because the brushes on the 2 dollar motor are burnt out. No combination of buttons, restarts, etc if going to fix that.

Don't buy a Neeknn actuator

Well the magic is gone!

I ordered a Neeknn Power Door Lock Actuator from Amazon. It worked, but the door didn't open and close smoothly. I tried to adjust everything possible and it still felt like a junkyard car door. Reinstalled the old actuator and the door opened properly.

I decided not to purchase a new OEM actuator. On eBay I found OEM remanufactured actuators with a lifetime warranty for $50 + shipping, ordered one today.

Nice find on the reman part!

It's a very simple fix, should only take 20 mins. Just take your time and don't break the plastic pins when pulling off the door skin.

I am using the cheap ass Amazon actuator. It started out not being smooth at all, but after about a month, it now opens and closes just like oem. Just an fyi for anyone interested.

*Update if someone happens to search this problem.

Five years and the remanufactured eBay actuator is still working perfectly.

A few weeks ago the original passengers side stopped woking. I again ordered one from the same eBay seller and it's working again.
