Cabin Filter and Engine Filter
Edit: Just realized I put ES350H. She has an ES300H.
Hello all, I'm usually in the 2GS forums, but am here to get some recommendations on filters for my girlfriend's 2014 ES350H. What are the part numbers and which brands do you guys recommend replacing with? I was looking through some old threads and Wix came up once or twice. Could I maybe just vacuum out the old filter and reuse? Thanks, |

I just buy them off Amazon (you can put in the year of your car and model) and they have all fit so far. I buy the ones with the highest reviews and they are very cheap. Replace them every year and don't think about it. Beats paying the dealership a ton of money to replace them.
Here is an example: |

The Fram Fresh Breeze just sounds like it'd smell good lol. Might try this one out.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out as well. |

The Fram cabin filter fits perfectly and is usually in stock at your local Walmart for around $18.00. Dealer wanted $55.00 for the filter and to install it.
The filter on my GX, on the other hand, is much harder to access. In order to get to it, you need to remove the entire glove box, and a part of the process involves having to unclip a small cable that requires very nimble fingers to get to. And, when re-installing the glove box, that small cable is even harder to clip back on. |
I was checking on amazon and came across this review on the Fram:
"The OEM filter for my 2007 Lexus ES350 (87139-07010) has 35 pleats and five stabilizing ribs. This Fram replacement filter has 14 pleats and no stabilizing ribs. Result: the Fram filter produces a howling noise at fan speeds of medium and above." I think I might go OEM. The part number is 87139-YZZ20, correct? Edit: Just bought both filters off eBay. Total was $36.85 with free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Lexus-Engine-Air-Filter-17801-YZZ10-Genuine-OEM/322295497626?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 https://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-TOYOTA-Lexus-Scion-A-C-HEAT-CABIN-Air-Filter-87139-YZZ20-87139-YZZ08-OEM/183115025063?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 |

Do you have a 2007 ES? The parts you ordered will not fit a 6th gen.

She has a 2014 ES300H, but my earlier comment was just referring to the part about the pleats for the Fram filter. I ordered the OEM filters for a 2014 ES300H already.

The eBay links don't match what I see fitting an ESh, but good luck!
It's also the 3rd vehicle listed underneath that chart for the cabin air filter. |
Quick update: Links from post 7 are the correct items. Here are some pics of the 2 filters I replaced. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...50f25f595.jpeg Engine Air Filter https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...3720c1718.jpeg Cabin Air Filter |
Whatever you do. Don't buy the Filters with the nice baking soda in them. Gets white power res all in the vents.

Be careful as you are replacing the cabin filter not to bump the kind of obscure button that controls the access to the trunk. On the lower left side it is accessible with the glove box open. I bumped it the first time I changed mine and had to get help on this forum when I was unable to get in the trunk. I believe Lesz pointed that out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwwcKiMCI2Y Tried the fram this time around and am confused as to which way the filter needs to go in. The OEM one I got back then has arrows that say “up” so it was easy enough to install. The fram one has “airflow this way” I stuck my hand in there and it feels like air is flowing downwards, so I installed it with airflow arrows pointed down. Checked frams site and they had installation instructions for the ES300h but their replacement fram filter had the “up” arrows so they installed it with arrows pointed up.how do you have yours? https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...a088ee4f4.jpeg |
