Default Windshield Crack

OK, I know windshield issues can happen given the condition of our roads.
But months ago I noticed that our '16 ES appeared to be getting a pitting of the windshield. I took it to Lexus and although the dealer thought it was unusual Lexus' response was to call my insurance agent.
Now, I noticed a small spider web starting in the center of the glass. Not sure if I'll get it replace yet.

But, I'm curious if others are experiencing unusual windshield problems?

My 14 ES 350 with 48k miles has enough windshield pitting to be noticeable at certain sun angles, but not what I would consider excessive for its age or impairs my vision. I had a rock impact make a quarter sized star break about a year ago. The break was immediately repaired by a glass shop and has not been any further issue. No insurance agent involvement for me.

My 6-months-new 2017 ES350 windshield cracked a few weeks ago. A piece of rock hit right at the edge of the driver side line of sight but I did not noticed it when it happend. It spreaded into a 12" crack within a day. Anyway, 2 weeks wait time for the OEM windshield and $50 deductible later, a new one was installed. My insurance approved OEM glass without even asking a question. BTW, the invoice amount for the OEM was a whopping $1,230. Good thing my comprehensive was only $50 (my insurance company does not offer zero deductible).

A year ago, a small piece of metal flew off from a truck and hit my windshield near the center bottom edge. I used a windshield quick fix kit (special glue and a syringe, mainly) to seal the crack and it's held up so far, after a year of hot summers and sub-zero Celsius winters.

For those of you that have used kits yourself, how clear/noticeable was the repair. I have a small rock chip/pit/pock mark or whatever you want to call it. No cracks radiating out. Problem is, it is in the drivers line of sight...sort of. With everything I have heard about replacing windshields, obviously I do not want to do that. Mark is small enough not to impair vision but it is slightly noticeable and occasionally drives me nuts seeing it. I know the glass companies will not repair if it is in the line of sight. I was wondering if the self fix kids would make it a noticeable or at least a lot less noticeable.

Just get used to it The repair kit didn't make the crack on my windshield look any less obvious but it did stop it from spreading. Mine is slightly below line of sight, it doesn't bother me any more after a year of looking past the darn thing.
