If this is a question...then yes, it is limited to the range of the stock lexus fob.

12V solutions offers an attachment for an additional cost that allows you to remote start via a phone app that also entails a year subscription that is $60-70 per year. I declined that option as generally I'll be in range with the factory fob and the times I am not I am parked in the Office's parking garage which is temperature controlled.

I can only get 20-30 feet from the Lexus Fob.

Keep in mind that the Lexus fob does works together with the Viper remote. Basically I can use either fob to arm the car. The only difference is I can only use the Viper remote to remote start the car and the range is crazy long.

I ordered the kit from 12Volt Solutions yesterday. At this time they don't have a phone app available, they said they will have it soon.

Use RECART10 for a $10.50 discount.

Update 1/8/18
Phone app is now available, installed it and it works.

Default remote start using FOB

Benz..Save yourself some time and frustration and call Lexus Enform at 800-255-3987. Basically you need to set up an account on Drivers.Lexus.Com then from your Cell Phone get the app for Lexus Enform and set it up. I struggled for two days finally went to 800 number and they walked me through it. They are very easy to work with and very patient for those of us not real cell savvy on new iPhone. Good luck..Dave

You need an active subscription for it to work with the FOB on your '17.

That is correct.

With an active Enform Remote (paid) subscription, you would be able to use the key fob to start the car. The procedure is to quickly press the "lock" button twice and, then, to press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds. But, again, without an Enform subscription, remote start is disabled with both the phone app and with the fob.

Or, if you don't want to pay, and pay, and pay... The alternative is an aftermarket RS system. About $300.00 installed using the factory key fob.
Engine still shuts down when the doors are opened though... Pay once and done...

Default How-To Video

Would you happen to have the video still? I will be receiving my kit tomorrow and am looking for a guide.

It looks like they made some edits to it but it's virtually all there.

Will update original post so other users are able to find it.

Same footage...they just added in some glamour.

Watch whole video first. I snapped a tab because I didn't remove the middle lower trim piece before removing the lower dash. It hasn't caused any problems since but to prevent others from having the same experience it's important to note.

Default Is 250 c

Can this same setup be used on a 2015 IS 250 C? I am looking at a black one and will want this in the heat. Is there a newer one that connects to a phone for longer range?
thanks,
Anthony

I installed a plug and play remote start system. It works great. Easy to do as well! I am making a video of the install. I'll post when completed. I got it from 12volt.solutions.com

The owner is a super nice guy, knows his stuff, and responds promptly. Worth the huge chunk of change it cost. Uses factory fobs unless you get the add on for remote start via phone/cellular.
