I just bought a 2013 ES300h, love the car, but it has this weird stutter/vibration when I give it gas from a complete stop. In fact, I think any time the motor kicks on when the car is at rest, the motor is really noticable.

Not sure if this is an issue or just how the car works, my first hybrid... any tips?

I have not experienced any of that on my 2013 ES300h. Perhaps another member will have something to add.

 

At rest when the engine first kick in, it is noticeable. The car even may slightly rock, but I wouldn't describe it as stutter. When the car is in motion the switch from hybrid to engine is much less noticeable. So I think what you are experiencing is normal.
