Need radio on without engine running
 

I have a new ES350 and am wondering how to have the radio and accessories running without the engine running. Like on my beater Honda and every other car I have had you can turn the key part way to Accessory and sit there for an hour while the wifey shops. There has to be a way!

You will find it in your owner's manual but I believe it is just one or two taps on the push to start button with your foot off the brake.

Here's how it's done: If you're parking the car and want to wait inside and listen to the radio, hold your foot on the brake, place the gear shift in neutral, turn off the car by pushing the button, place the car in park and sit back and listen to the radio. The radio will play and the engine (and everything else) will be off. Start normally when ready to go...

When car is off, foot off the brake...press start button once. You are now in accessory mode.

Just be aware the radio and other accessories will automatically shut off after about 15 minutes, then you need to repeat the process.
