VSC off help.
Hi, Im new to the forum.
I own a 2001 LS430. I had a check engine light turned on a couple months ago. Had it checked at autozone, and they said it was a gas cap. Well I never replaced it thinking it won't hurt it. The light turned off and it came back on a couple weeks ago. I had it tested my self and it also showed gas cap. So the next time I started my car, the vsc off warning light came on and has stayed on. I tried disconnecting the battery for 10 min with no luck. Can anyone please give me advice on how to fix it. Thank you.

This is the Generation 6 ES forum. You would probably get better/more responses by posting here:

In any case, did you replace the gas cap? If you have replaced the gas cap and if that was truly the cause of the code, after several dozen miles of driving, the code should clear itself. On the other hand, if you haven't replaced the gas cap or if the gas cap was not what triggered the code, the malfunction warning lights are not going to go away.
Also, if you think you have remedied what triggered the code and if you want the malfunction warning lights to go away immediately, you can go to one of the auto parts stores and borrow their code scanner. After you use it to scan for trouble codes, you can use the scanner to clear all of the codes. However, if you haven't taken care of whatever triggered the codes, the warning lights will return in short order.
