It does seem odd. I wonder if the poster is selling some kind of leather repair product?

And I don't think that the ventilation feature would cause any seat damage... I also reside in Pennsylvania and have been using the ventilated seats for almost 6 years w/o issue...

AFAIK there is a TSB for ventilated seats on earlier 6th Gen ESes. Apparently some hoses collapse in the seat which results in reduced cooling. The dealer is instructed to replaces these hoses.

I plan to take my ES soon for service as I do not feel any cooling in my seat - just hear the fan noise.

I did not know about the TSB or would have asked the dealer. I just replaced my wifes 2013 ES350 with a 2015 and the difference in the ventilated seats is like day and night. The heated seats always worked well. With the '13 I could hear the motor but very little air movement even on high. Now the '15 is amazing, blowing nice, cool air, even on the lowest setting. Since this is my wifes car, I call it her Kooter Kooler.

maybe off topic but i think the main benefit is the heated seats and that feature works great, the cooling/ventilation/whatever you want to call it is just same air without the heating coil, a byproduct of the heated seat and is better than nothing
Lexus never advertised cooled seats

Except, the fan is not running when the seat heater is on.

My GX 460 has ventilated seats but they are not cooling at all. They are not cooling seats, definitely, only ventilated seat, and that makes a lot of difference. Especially in Bahrain, a very warmed weather country.

Theyre not air conditioned seats, wish they were but they work good to keep your back from sticking to the seat backs in hot weather, thats about it.

I really wish we had the massaging function like Bmw offers.

Well said and I agree, they're better than nothing. If some other people that have posted don't like them they should get a different car.

Cars aren't perfect.

Well, it’s all a matter of personal preference. I also have the ventilated seats in my 2018 ES350. I’ve tried them about 3 times since I bought the car. They work perfectly fine. It is extremely hot where I live (Abu Dhabi) and I always felt that all they do is let cold air flow against my back, which will cause condensation on my shirt / skin and feels worse than without it.
I haven’t used them again!

Can you tell me where I can read these TSB (whatever that stands for?) ?
