We have a new ES with the light color semi-aniline leather. It seems like I have to clean the driver's seat every couple of weeks because of the dye in our clothes is coming off and getting on the leather. Is there a product that can be applied to help keep this problem at bay?

Try this

hhanger, all you need to do is once a week is get a good microwfiber towel, some hot water but not too hot, and wipe down your seats. Make sure you wring out most of the water. You will see all the dirt come out. Just let the seats air dry and you are good to go. This is what I've been doing for years now. The leather in today's cars have a protective coating on them to make the leather more durable. All the other stuff that you put on really doesn't do anything but smear your clothes and the fumes fog all the windows. Give it a try. I think you will be pleased.

I also had this issue with my Parchment leather. I asked on this forum and it was suggested to use Ultima interior shampoo gel. I bought it and never looked back. It removes blue jean dye transfer, soil, wear marks and just about anything else. It's only available online and costs about $20.00 for a spray bottle. I bought mine about 2 years ago and still have it. It is a very good product for stain removal on your beautiful leather.

As an aside, you may want to go on the detailing forum and see what they have to say.

These have the best reviews and have the least amount of "greasy" feeling. Meguir's gold class is not what it's cracked up to be. Here is a link on Amazon. You may be able to find these at Walmart for cheaper.

Hhanger: When you ask a question such as you have, you'll get 50 different suggestions. Everyone thinks the one that they use is the best. Try a few out and see for yourself which works best.

If my leather gets too dirty, I use Woolite, it's cheap and works great, besides the owners manual says to use it.

I can attest that after seeing the suggestion to try Ultima interior shampoo I spent the day yesterday working on my ES350 leather and the stuff works amazingly. I will be buying more after seeing the results of how it not only cleaned the leather but the vinyl surfaces as well. Just my 2 cents.
