Default When is facelift/next gen coming?

Hi all,

New member here. When should we expect the ES to be face lifted or updated? It is already in 3rd year and previous gen was face lifted for year 4. I'm waiting for that to either get the face lifted one or to score a good discount.

ES is usually updated every 5 years. Looking back at the previous generations, we can safely say that face lifted version will be introduced 2016 model (which comes out Oct. 2015), and a brand new model will be out for 2017.

I would expect a little mid-cycle refresh with the 2016 model but wouldn't expect it to rise to the level of a face lift.

I would agree with that. The ES350 was refreshed with the 2010 model year (4 model years in). It was a very nice refresh IMO, but not what you'd call a face lift.

As long as the ES is selling well, there is probably no need for anything too extensive.

The 2015 facelift of the Camry was nearly all styling - functionally there was little improvement (except in the precision and feel of the electric steering); e.g. same seats (too small and thinly padded), same ride (too stiff), same level of quietness (too loud) same unpadded cardboard headliner. So I doubt the 2016 ES will offer much improvement and possibly might take a step backward (e.g. if a CVT is substituted for the 6-speed automatic) in order to squeeze out a bit more fuel economy.
