I don't know about the Hybrid (should be the same as the 350) but my ES350 image sizes are 1900 x 1200 and 2560 x 1600. Good luck!

Is there any way to extend the time (like from two seconds to five seconds) that the image appears?

Hi Kabajaro

That cant be right. 1900 x 1200 and 2560 x 1600 resolutions are for large monitors. For example my 26' wide Samsung monitor is 1680x1050. The lexus nav screen is much smaller than that. I will keep researching.

As a comparison an iPad 2 non- retina is 1024-by-768 for its 9 1/2 screen. Which is about 2 MB. Can't hurt too much to have more pixels than the screens resolution. My pictures look great.

Why wouldn't it be? Because I am using those pictures and that is what it says for the pictures' dimensions and it has been working fine. Mind you I also have 3264 x 2448 and that one also worked great.
Just a side note, they are all .JPEG and the disk sizes are 302KB, 864KB, and 1,204KB for the three sizes respectively.

P.S: I have to leave but if you still could not get it, let me know and I will post the pictures I am using so you could use them and play with their sizes.

There are a lot of threads about that so you could do a quick search and try for yourself. Took me many tries but when I got it to worked, it felt REALLY great as opposed to having someone tell me the shortcut.
Good luck!

I believe you only need navigation.

Okay I will help make your life easier :P
Allow me first to address the "StartipImage." I don't know whether that is what you put on your flash drive or you made a typo on CL but the folder name should be "StartUpImage," case sensitive and make sure the drive is FAT32 and I believe the picture has to be in JPG or JPEG. You can only have three at a time because there are only four slots to select from (one is taken by the original Lexus logo).
I actually don't think you need to have NAV for that because whether you have NAV or not you still turn the display screen on and off when you turn the car on.

I just did it to my car this morning, and its described in the navigation manual on page 56 I believe. Just plug a thumb USB drive into your computer, find the picture you want, and drag and drop it onto the USB thumb drive but AFTER you have created the new folder StartUpImages. What I did to make it work was to remane the pic something like "BoysSoccer.JPEG" and that seemed to allow the car to be able to find it. Do the same for any Pics you want to be in the "DisplayOffImages" folder too. Best of luck.

Thanks for the info! With some trial and error, I found the following to be true. I just did it for my car.

1. USB drive needs to be FAT32 format.
2. Create a folder named "StartupImages" <-- this is case sensitive
3. Name your picture file in ALL CAPS.
4. Count that your pic's filename EQUALS 32 characters (not up to 32 characters). This includes the ".JPEG" extension.

These instructions is what worked for me. I tried other variations without success. This one went through without a hitch. Good luck!
