Default Footwell Lights in 2013 ES300H

I have a ES 300 H that I am loving so far. I have a question that I hope someone can answer about the footwell lights. Are they suppose to go out after you close the door? Mine have been staying on the entire time while I am driving. I hope someone can tell me if they are suppose to go off or not.

I have the Ultra luxury package which includes ambient lighting.

ambient lighting has the footwell lights on all the time.

Yes. They dim a bit but stay on.

Hi all! I've got the Luxury (not UL) package with a number of "extras", and while I don't have the ambient lighting package , I also have the footwell lighting -- always on at night.

Same here on a luxury package - the footwell lighting is ON, but sometimes I like seeing where my feet are located. Not a big deal for me. It is not THAT bright.

Same here on the Lux Package. I've notice them being on when I first got the car, but now I don't even remember if they're on at all.

They are a very nice touch and they are always on. You may not notice them being on but when you are in a car without them you will surely notice that they are missing.

I think it's on only at night, when headlights are on.

Can anyone confirm the footwell lighting is on the driver's side only? I just noticed my ultra luxury 300h passenger-side footwell has no lights. After 21,000 miles, I cannot recall if there were lights and they went out somehow; or there were never any lights to begin with.

The passenger side has lights, too.

Are these on while driving (like driver's side)? Or only when you open the door?

Both driver and passenger side footwell lights are on whenever the headlights are on, not just when a door is open.

Thanks...I peeked under the dash and found the LED light that is out. Hopefully, this is an easy bulb swap the dealer can perform under warranty.

I can see mine as I drive in the garage, before the auto headlights turn on, so it's either on all the time or tied to the sensor that controls dash lights, which are independent of the headlight.

'Glad you found the bulb issue.
