Anyone know if you can add the Lexus BSM to a Lexus that doesn't have it already? I have a 2012 rx450h that I'd like to add it to if possible. I purchased the vehicle used though so I didn't have the option to add my own features like this.

I would like to see a post from the one person who thinks the BSM isn't worth it...

JBX - I don't believe adding BSM would be possible at a cost that would be justifiable. As popular as it is becoming maybe there will be an aftermarket it in the making though.

Never had it before - I really love it. The only (sort of) annoying thing is that it is so good that when you are in the freeway right lane and cars are passing you every ten seconds - the mirror icons light up - after a while it can be a little distracting (but for that slight inconvenience I wouldn't give it up - and you can always turn it off which would be dumb if you wanted to).

Agree, it is definitely worth it. Also agree that it should be standard on all cars moving forward.

I too agree on the benefits of the BSM technology. We only have it on our 2013 ES 300h; however, having the system is addicting in a sense. You tend to rely on the system a lot. I wonder if over time, we get so used to the system that in a car without it you would make bad decisions....

Yes, definitely helpful specially the cross traffic alert. Even a person walking can detect it. Very helpful when backing up on a blind corner.
